Decorative Washi Tape Clothespins

Most of you know that I am totally infatuated with Washi Tape.   So obsessed that I had to bring it into the shop.  LOL.

The past several weeks, I've been re-organizing and cleaning (more like overhauling!) around the house.  I have a serious case of the "Spring Cleaning Bug".  With re-organizing comes lots of prettiness, in my opinion.  I like prettiness!  On top of my refrigerator sat 3 large plastic bowls.  2 white and one orange (YUCK!).  These bowls contain all of my kids Halloween goodies, Easter treats, candies, etc.  The bowl were such an eye sore over the past several years.  I had been wanting to replace them, but every time I would go shopping, I would forget to look around for something that would work... and when I did remember to look, we didn't have the extra cash to spend.

Well, income tax time came and we had a little extra after we planned this year's home renovation projects.  My dear husband just finished up putting in central air in the bedrooms.  Whoo Hoo!!! No more ugly window units!  It sure does help that he is in the HVAC industry and can do it himself.

So I went on a mission to find something that would serve the purpose of holding all those goodies, and look pretty on top of the fridge.

One trip to Bed Bath and Beyond with my 20% off coupons in hand...

Ahhh... much better!  Simple black totes that fit perfectly.  One for each kiddo, and no confusion since I labeled them.

No dust up there.  I cleaned before I took the photos.  LOL

A close up.  I took a basic clothespin, adhered some pretty washi tape to both sides.  Cut off the excess.  My daughter and I have been making fabric yo-yos, so we picked some black and neutral tones that match the decor in our kitchen and attached them with some Fabri-Tac.  Aren't they purty?  I think I may cut down the labels a bit, or at least round the corners.  What do you think??

I'm glad you took the time to stop by.  I hope you like the blog make over too.  I'm happy with it.  I think it will inspire me to keep posting more.

Until next time.

  2. I love your new blog! It's so pretty and chic. Those containers are adorable. I'm the same way, always looking for something cute for storage. But I always end up buying supplies and then wonder why they are all over my floor?!
